About Me
Dr. Frini A. Makadia is a glaucoma specialist at Wheaton Eye Clinic who cares for adults with the full spectrum of glaucoma and cataract disease. She combines careful longitudinal monitoring with tailored treatments, offering medical therapy, office-based lasers such as selective laser trabeculoplasty and laser peripheral iridotomy, and a full range of surgical options—from minimally invasive glaucoma surgery to trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage devices. She also performs routine and complex cataract surgery and helps patients choose lens options that fit their visual goals.
Dr. Makadia graduated with distinction from Duke University with a BS in Chemistry (biochemistry concentration) and earned her MD cum laude at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed internship at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt Eye Institute—where she received the Benchmark Award for Clinical & Surgical Excellence—and fellowship training at The Ohio State Haevner Eye Institute focused on glaucoma. Active in research and education, she has published and presented at national meetings and enjoys partnering with patients to find practical, lasting solutions.
