About Me
Dr. Tyler Hall is an Assistant Professor and serves as the Cornea Fellowship Director at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He specializes in treating adult and teenage patients for a wide range of corneal and cataract conditions, including keratoconus, Fuchs’ dystrophy, herpes simplex and herpes zoster keratitis, age-related and traumatic cataract, pterygium, corneal ulcers and infections, dry eye, conjunctivitis, and refractive surgical complications.
He performs advanced surgical procedures such as cataract surgery with intraocular implants for astigmatism and presbyopia, corneal cross-linking, corneal transplantation (including penetrating, endothelial, and lamellar keratoplasty, and the Boston Keratoprosthesis artificial cornea), pterygium removal, and conjunctival tumor removal. Dr. Hall is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Cornea Society. Additionally, he serves as the associate medical director of the Alabama Eye Bank, one of the nation's top eye banks. Dr. Hall completed his medical education at Wright State University, graduating summa cum laude, followed by an internship, residency where he was chief resident, and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery.
