Dr. Priscilla Fowler

Dr. Priscilla Fowler is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who brings a wealth of experience in comprehensive eye care and advanced surgical techniques to her patients in Birmingham and beyond. A native of the area, she completed her residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident, and later honed her skills through a prestigious corneal fellowship at Wills Eye Institute. Dr. Fowler spent nearly a decade building a successful solo practice in Florida before returning home to join the faculty at UAB, where she rose to become an Associate Professor and Director of the Cornea Service. Her dedication to innovation is evident in her establishment of the UAB Ocular Surface and Dry Eye Disease Clinic, which has provided relief to thousands of patients.

Dr. Fowler’s clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of corneal and external eye diseases, including the management of infections, dystrophies, and dry eye syndrome. She is highly skilled in state-of-the-art corneal transplant techniques, collagen crosslinking for keratoconus, and advanced cataract surgery. Her approach to patient care is deeply rooted in a commitment to education and personalized treatment, ensuring that each individual receives the highest level of expert attention.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Fowler is actively involved in the medical community through her membership in several professional societies and her service on the Board of the Advancing Sight Network. She maintains board certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is dedicated to advancing the field through research and teaching. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and remains connected to her passion for figure skating through her role on the executive board of the Birmingham Figure Skating Club.
