About Me
Dr. Timothy T. Khater is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist serving the Lubbock, Texas area. As the founder of West Texas Eye Associates, he provides comprehensive care for a wide range of anterior segment conditions, including cataracts, corneal disease, and refractive errors. Dr. Khater's approach combines advanced surgical techniques with personalized patient care to achieve optimal visual outcomes.
Dr. Khater performs a variety of specialized procedures such as full-thickness and partial-thickness corneal transplants (PKP and DSEK), surgical treatment of pterygium and pinguecula, and advanced laser procedures including peripheral iridotomy, selective laser trabeculoplasty, and YAG laser capsulotomy. For vision correction, he offers LASIK, PRK, implantable contact lenses (ICL), and clear lens extraction. He also provides modern glaucoma management with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and iDose TR implant therapy.
Dr. Khater earned his medical degree and PhD in Physiology from Northwestern University and completed his ophthalmology residency and fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine's Cullen Eye Institute, one of the nation's top programs.
