About Me
Dr. Joseph M. Ortiz is an ophthalmologist who focuses on glaucoma, dry eye, and comprehensive eye care. He treats patients with open-angle glaucoma, narrow-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and other glaucoma-related conditions. He also provides care for dry eye, excessive tearing, and conjunctivitis.
Dr. Ortiz brings extensive experience to his practice. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed residency training in ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. His advanced fellowship training includes glaucoma at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, UK, and scleritis at Moorfields Hospital in London. Dr. Ortiz previously served as an associate professor of ophthalmology and head of the glaucoma division at Drexel University-Hahnemann Hospital, as well as at Cooper Hospital-UMDNJ. He is the co-author of the textbook "Colour Atlas of Scleritis."
