About Me
Dr. Jonathan Perkins is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical retina care at The Eye Clinic’s Retina Center. He evaluates and treats retinal and vitreous conditions that can threaten vision, using advanced diagnostic imaging to guide care and monitor progress. Patients may be referred for problems such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal detachment, macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion.
Dr. Perkins attended Louisiana State University for undergraduate and medical school, completed an ophthalmology residency at LSU, and finished a retina fellowship at the University of Iowa. At The Retina Center, he and the team use technologies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, and retinal photography, and they offer therapies ranging from office-based injections and laser treatment to vitreoretinal surgery when needed. He aims to provide clear explanations, timely treatment, and compassionate support for every patient.
