About Me
Dr. John Siano is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist at New England Retina Associates. He cares for adults with a wide range of medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous, retina, and macula, and is committed to providing timely, compassionate care for people throughout Connecticut. Dr. Siano completed his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, followed by medical school at the New York College of Medicine and an internal medicine internship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and went on to advanced training in vitreoretinal surgery. In clinic and in the operating room, he treats complex problems such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, and retinal detachments, as well as complications that can occur after cataract surgery. He also participates in clinical research and clinical trials to offer patients access to new therapies and individualized treatment plans.
