About Me
Dr. Richard Kaplan is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at Connecticut Retina Consultants. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, providing care for conditions such as retinal detachment, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Kaplan is dedicated to delivering exceptional care while minimizing patient stress and maximizing comfort.
Dr. Kaplan completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and his undergraduate degree from George Washington University. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. His clinical interests include retinal detachment repair, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, management of cataract surgery complications, and ocular trauma.
