Dr. John C. Michael is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founder of Retina Institute of Illinois, with over 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating complex eye conditions. He focuses on retinal disorders such as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration, as well as cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Michael is committed to advanced, patient-centered care and offers treatments for a full spectrum of vitreoretinal diseases. Patients can expect thorough evaluations and personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific eye health needs.
Dr. Michael sees patients at multiple Retina Institute of Illinois locations throughout the Chicagoland area, including Chicago, Crystal Lake, Huntley, and Niles. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has contributed to the field through research on central serous chorioretinopathy, cystoid macular edema, and proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
