Dr. Inas Aboobakar

Aaron R. Kaufman, MD, is a cornea and cataract surgeon who blends advanced microsurgical skill with a calm, patient-first approach. He helps people see clearly again with procedures ranging from modern cataract surgery to corneal transplantation and laser vision correction, and he explains options in plain language so patients can choose what fits their goals and lifestyle. A Cincinnati native, Dr. Kaufman completed both his BA and MD through the accelerated Boston University program before ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then pursued fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, where he also contributed to clinical research and earned multiple recognitions.

Ines Maria De Carvalho Lains, MD, PhD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon and clinician-scientist in the Retina Service who treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease. She cares for people with retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other complex conditions, and offers individualized plans that balance the latest evidence with each patient’s goals. Dr. Lains completed residency in ophthalmology through Harvard Medical School and advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Her research background includes a PhD in Health Sciences, and she has been recognized with a NIH K12 Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award.
