About Me
Dr. Tave van Zyl is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. She cares for patients with a focus on protecting vision, preserving quality of life, and helping people understand their options for long-term eye health.
She earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine after graduating cum laude from Harvard College in Biochemical Sciences. Dr. van Zyl completed ophthalmology residency training at Harvard Medical School and then pursued advanced fellowship training in Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston.
In addition to clinical care, she investigates the molecular and genetic factors that contribute to glaucoma, with the goal of developing more effective therapies for patients.
