About Me
Dr. Shilpa Gulati is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist who cares for diseases of the retina and vitreous. She treats conditions such as retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, retinal vascular occlusions, and macular hole or pucker. Her care includes in-office diagnostics such as OCT and fluorescein angiography, as well as treatments like intravitreal injections and retinal laser procedures. When surgery is needed, she performs vitreoretinal operations such as vitrectomy, scleral buckle, and pneumatic retinopexy.
Dr. Gulati earned degrees from Stanford University, the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois at Chicago and then a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston and the New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center. She has participated in clinical trials focused on retinal disease and is committed to restoring and maintaining vision to improve her patients’ quality of life.
