About Me
Dr. Andrew Lam is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He treats conditions such as retinal detachment, macular pucker, macular hole, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and complications of cataract surgery. He serves as an attending surgeon at Baystate Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dr. Lam completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University, earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and finished his ophthalmology residency and a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Lam has authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters on vitreoretinal diseases and has been a co-investigator in clinical trials on macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
