About Me
Dr. Scott Sonne is a vitreoretinal surgery fellow with a strong interest in complex macular and retinal vascular disease. Before fellowship, he trained in comprehensive ophthalmology and served as Chief Academic Resident, experiences that shaped his methodical, patient-first approach. He enjoys partnering with patients and referring doctors to build clear plans for diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing follow-up.
In fellowship, Dr. Sonne is gaining advanced experience in office-based retina care (including imaging, laser, and injection therapy) and in the operating room with modern small-gauge vitrectomy, scleral buckling, and membrane peeling. He is motivated by the opportunity to preserve sight during urgent problems like retinal detachment and to improve day-to-day visual function in chronic conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Patients can expect attentive communication and careful counseling at each visit.
