Meet Dr. Jaime Gaitan
About Me
Dr. Jaime Gaitan is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He joined Associated Retina Consultants in 2014 after serving at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and spending over six years in private practice as a retina specialist. His ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship were completed at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a top-ranked training program.
Dr. Gaitan is actively engaged in research, having co-authored numerous scientific papers and currently developing an online educational resource focused on wet age-related macular degeneration. He also holds an appointment as assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he contributes to medical education.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Gaitan provides comprehensive care for retinal conditions such as macular degeneration and other common retinal diseases. He values spending time with his family and enjoys outdoor activities including skiing and hiking.
