About Me
Dr. Alan Gordon is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and macular disease, offering expert care for complex retinal conditions. He has served as a retina specialist and surgeon with Associated Retina Consultants since 1992 and currently holds the role of president for the practice. Dr. Gordon contributes to medical education as the past chairman of a nationally accredited fellowship program that trains future retina specialists across the country.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Gordon is the associate director for retina services at Maricopa County Medical Center and a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. His expertise makes him the leading primary investigator for numerous national clinical drug studies, focusing on innovative treatments for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and uveitis. He has published his research findings in major ophthalmology journals.
Committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Gordon is a member of professional organizations such as the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has been recognized with honors including Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors and America’s Top Ophthalmologists by Castle Connolly since 2015. Outside of his practice, he enjoys sports, photography, and spending time with his three children.
