Dr. Norman Zaffater

Dr. Norman A. Zaffater, Jr., MD, is an ophthalmologist offering comprehensive family eye care. He has extensive experience in laser vision correction, including LASIK, SMILE, and PRK, and is one of the few eye surgeons in Louisiana to offer the SMILE procedure. He treats a wide range of refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and reading vision concerns. Dr. Zaffater also specializes in cataract surgery, utilizing advanced techniques like the LenSx laser and various lens implants to correct distance, intermediate, and reading vision. Additionally, he is skilled in eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) for both cosmetic and medical purposes and manages conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and retinal abnormalities.

Dr. Zaffater is board certified in ophthalmology and completed his residency at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport in 1997. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
