Meet Dr. Joseph Khawly
About Me
Dr. Khawly is an adult retina specialist at Retina & Vitreous of Texas, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He has additional expertise in uveitis, a condition involving inflammation of the eye. His approach is informed by extensive training at Duke University, where he completed his ophthalmology residency, a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship, and served on the faculty as a clinical associate.
Dr. Khawly has contributed to research on the ocular effects of chemotherapy and the use of silicone oil in retinal detachment repair, presenting his work at national and international meetings. He treats a range of retinal conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular hole, and epiretinal membrane.
