Meet Dr. Emmanuel Chang
About Me
Dr. Emmanuel Chang is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreous conditions for both adults and children. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University, where he was a recipient of the prestigious A.B. Duke Memorial Scholarship. He then completed a combined MD/PhD program, graduating from medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and earning his doctorate in Bioengineering from Rice University.
His medical training includes an internship at Methodist Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute of Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He further specialized through a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the renowned Associated Retinal Consultants/William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, under leading retina specialists.
Dr. Chang's clinical expertise covers a wide range of retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, and pediatric disorders like retinopathy of prematurity. His research integrates biomedical engineering to develop novel treatments. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and conversational Spanish, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive retina care.
