Dr. John Baker

Dr. John D. Baker is a pediatric ophthalmologist who has been providing expert eye care for children in the metro Detroit area since 1972. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric eye conditions, including strabismus (misaligned eyes), cataracts, retinopathy of prematurity, amblyopia, and blocked tear ducts. As a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and former Chief of Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Dr. Baker brings decades of experience and a commitment to advancing pediatric eye care.

In addition to treating children, Dr. Baker also cares for adults with strabismus and related conditions such as diplopia (double vision) and nerve palsies. He is actively involved in clinical research and has participated in National Institutes of Health/National Eye Institute-sponsored trials.
