Dr. Alexandra Apkarian

Alexandra Apkarian, MD is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus surgeon. Dr. Apkarian specializes in the treatment of amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes, misaligned eyes) in children and adults, and many other pediatric eye issues in children. She sees patients at Children’s Eye Care’s Dearborn, Detroit and West Bloomfield offices.

Dr. Apkarian is primarily affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Michigan and is also on staff at Beaumont Hospital. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University, teaching pediatric ophthalmology fellows and ophthalmology residents from several institutions. Dr. Apkarian is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. She has been recognized as a Top Doc by Hour Detroit.

She is an avid reader and is very known at her local library. She and her husband stay active coaching their two daughters’ and son’s basketball and softball teams.
