About Me
Dr. Jimmy Y. Hu is a cataract, corneal, and refractive specialist renowned for his expertise in complex cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, and advanced refractive procedures such as LASIK and EVO ICL. He also focuses on ocular surface reconstruction and the management of dry eye, ocular surface diseases, and complicated corneal conditions. Patients and colleagues alike praise his surgical skills, gentle bedside manner, and dedication to delivering superior results. Athletes, airline pilots, law-enforcement officers, and fellow surgeons have entrusted their eye care to Dr. Hu.
Dr. Hu completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude in the honors program. He earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Special Distinction in Ophthalmology for his research. His post-graduate training included a medical internship at Brown University, residency at the Henkind Eye Institute at Montefiore Medical Center, and a prestigious fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Hu is a clinical assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
