About Me
Dr. Kichiemon Asoma is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care with specialized expertise in corneal conditions, cataract surgery, and laser vision correction. He is fluent in both English and Japanese, allowing him to serve a diverse patient population.
Dr. Asoma completed his medical school and ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, where he was recognized with the Excellence in Ophthalmology award and served as Chief Resident. He further honed his skills as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Cornea at SUNY Downstate, where he trained residents and managed complex corneal cases. His specialized training includes dry eye management, laser refractive surgery, and advanced cataract surgery techniques using multifocal, extended depth of focus, and toric lens implants.
In addition to his practice at Apple Ophthalmology, Dr. Asoma remains actively involved in medical education, teaching residents at HHC South Brooklyn Health and NYU/Bellevue. Patients appreciate his thorough, compassionate approach and his commitment to utilizing the latest technology for optimal visual outcomes.
