About Me
Dr. Javed Asif Sayed is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He cares for patients with both medical and surgical retinal conditions, and his clinical interests include vision-threatening problems such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Sayed earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Yale University and then pursued an ocular oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health. He went on to complete a surgical retina fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Sayed has authored scientific publications and presented at national meetings, and outside of medicine he enjoys distance running, including ultramarathon events.
