Dr. Komal Desai

Dr. Komal B. Desai is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ocular oncologist at Sabates Eye Centers, serving patients in Kansas City. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of intraocular tumors, including retinoblastoma, melanoma, and conjunctival tumors.

Dr. Desai earned her B.A. in Biology and Doctor of Medicine through the University of Missouri – Kansas City's combined B.A./M.D. program. She completed her ophthalmology residency at UMKC School of Medicine and a clinical/research fellowship in ocular oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. She serves as an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UMKC School of Medicine and is actively involved in clinical research.

Dr. Desai has presented at institutions such as Mayo Clinic and UCSF and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals including Ophthalmic Surgery and Lasers and Archives of Ophthalmology.
