About Me
Dr. Sabates is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Sabates Eye Centers in Kansas City. He specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous as well as advanced cataract surgery. He treats a range of conditions including cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and other vitreous disorders.
With a commitment to advancing eye care, Dr. Sabates actively participates in clinical research and clinical trials focused on retinal diseases. He has served as a professor and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at UMKC's School of Medicine, and he lectures nationally and internationally on retinal treatments.
Dr. Sabates joined Sabates Eye Centers in 1992 and currently serves as president and chief executive officer of the practice. He is also the founder and co-director of the Vision Research Center, further contributing to the development of new treatments for eye conditions.
