About Me

Dr. James R. Singer is a board-certified surgical retina specialist who focuses on diseases affecting the macula, retina, and vitreous. He evaluates and treats a wide range of retinal conditions, and he works closely with patients to explain what is happening in the back of the eye and what treatments may help protect or restore vision.

Dr. Singer earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency training through Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Metro Health Hospital. He then completed an AUPO-accredited fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Associated Retina Consultants in Phoenix, Arizona.
