About Me
Dr. Zachary Bodnar is a retina specialist with Meadows Eye Physicians & Surgeons and serves as Director of the Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Program. He provides advanced care for diseases of the retina and works to protect and restore vision through careful diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and timely surgical care when needed.
Dr. Bodnar’s path to medicine began in technology: he started his career in the software industry after earning undergraduate degrees in computer science and engineering from MIT. He later earned his M.D. degree at Dartmouth College, completed ophthalmology residency training at St. Louis University, and pursued fellowship training in surgical retina at Stanford University. He also completed an ocular pathology fellowship at the Moran Eye Center and an ophthalmology innovation fellowship at Stanford, focused on designing new technologies for diagnosing and treating eye disease. He has authored scientific papers and reviews for ophthalmic journals, and he brings that same curiosity and attention to detail to every patient visit.
