Dr. Teresa Fowler

Dr. Teresa E. Fowler is a vitreoretinal surgery fellow at Palmetto Retina Center, where she cares for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical retina conditions. She earned her MD from Mercer University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. During residency she also completed a Master of Public Health through Augusta University, reflecting a strong interest in patient-centered care and population health.

At Palmetto Retina Center, Dr. Fowler works within a collaborative team known for state-of-the-art diagnostics, evidence-based treatments, and access to clinical trials. Patients value her clear explanations and thoughtful, step-by-step approach to decision-making, whether treatment involves monitoring, in-office procedures such as injections, or advanced retinal surgery. She strives to help each person understand their diagnosis and options so they can move forward with confidence. Outside the operating room and clinic, she remains engaged in education and quality improvement, bringing the same attention to detail to every aspect of care.
