About Me
Dr. Doan Bloomquist is an ophthalmologist with a focus on medical retina and patient-centered, practical care. She earned her undergraduate degree from Emory University and completed medical school and ophthalmology residency training at the Medical College of Georgia. She then pursued additional fellowship training in medical retina, also at the Medical College of Georgia.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bloomquist serves as Medical Director of the Tele-Ophthalmology program within the Department of Veterans Affairs, supporting remote eye care for Veterans through the Tele-Eye Care Service (TECS). Her clinical experience includes diagnostic imaging and procedures used in medical retina, such as fluorescein angiography and OCT interpretation, along with treatments including intravitreal injections and PRP laser. She also provides cataract surgery and a range of in-office laser procedures and minor eyelid procedures, aiming to make care clear, accessible, and responsive to each patient’s needs.
