About Me
Dr. Tahsin Choudhury is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal care. A native of New York state, he completed his early education in Newburgh and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Honors from Johns Hopkins University, where he began exploring ophthalmology through research on vitamins in macular degeneration and nonsteroidal intravitreal injections at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
He obtained his Medical Degree from NYU School of Medicine in Manhattan, continuing his retinal research with projects on chronic retinal detachments. Dr. Choudhury completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship at the National Retina Institute in Baltimore.
Dr. Choudhury is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Onondaga County Medical Society. He serves on the medical staff at the Syracuse VA and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he mentors medical students and residents. Personally, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, swimming, snowboarding, and building computers.
