About Me
Dr. Brown is a native of Upstate New York and completed his undergraduate degree in Physics at Middlebury College, graduating Summa Cum Laude, before attending medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied abroad at the University of Nagoya in Japan, where he developed an interest in vitreoretinal surgery. He completed his medical internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington and his surgical retina fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit.
Dr. Brown is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on retinal disease and has given presentations at national meetings. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University, mentoring medical students and residents. Dr. Brown joined Retina-Vitreous Surgeons of Central New York in 2010, where he provides care for patients with a variety of retinal conditions.
