About Me
Dr. Stephanie Sugin is a specialist in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous at The Eye Care Group, where she has been practicing since 1992. She provides care for a range of retinal conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal vascular diseases, and uveitis. Dr. Sugin has participated in clinical trials exploring new treatments to prevent vision-threatening retinal diseases.
Dr. Sugin completed her undergraduate and medical education through Northwestern University's Honors Program in Medical Education, graduating with honors from Northwestern University Medical School. She then completed an ophthalmology residency at Northwestern and advanced fellowship training in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, where she was awarded a Heed Fellowship. She is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. Dr. Sugin has also served as chairman of the department of ophthalmology at St. Mary's Hospital.
