About Me
Dr. Srinivas M. Sastry is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina, macula, and vitreous. He has a particular clinical interest in age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and has performed thousands of retina procedures. Dr. Sastry is dedicated to providing expert care for complex retinal conditions.
Dr. Sastry earned his medical degree in India and a Master of Public Health from Harvard University. He completed advanced specialty training at several renowned institutions, including Washington Hospital Center, the National Eye Institute at the National Institutes of Health, and the University of Washington. He maintains surgical staff privileges at Suburban Hospital (Johns Hopkins Medicine) and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sastry has been recognized among America's Top Ophthalmologists and as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor. He has presented research at national and international meetings and has published numerous articles on ophthalmology and eye disease prevention. His private practice focuses on the medical and surgical management of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment.
