About Me

Dr. Rebekah H. Gensure is a vitreoretinal surgeon dedicated to thoughtful, personalized care for patients with medical and surgical retina conditions. She strives to explain complex diagnoses clearly and partner with patients and families on a plan that protects sight and quality of life. Dr. Gensure completed combined MD/PhD training at Rutgers, focusing her graduate work on medical image analysis, machine learning, and informatics. She then completed ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University.

Her clinical practice spans diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, macular disease, retinal tears and detachments, and complications related to the vitreous. She offers the latest evidence-based treatments and surgical techniques and remains active in education and research through an adjunct appointment with the Moran Eye Center. Patients appreciate her attentive communication, compassionate approach, and focus on achieving durable, meaningful improvements in vision.
