About Me
Dr. Rebecca D. Sarran is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist. She specializes in the surgical and medical management of glaucoma, as well as the treatment of comprehensive ophthalmic concerns including cataracts. Her focus is on early diagnosis, pressure-lowering strategies tailored to risk, and clear discussions about when medications, lasers, or surgery are most appropriate.
Since 2020, Dr. Sarran has been a member of University Ophthalmology Associates and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University. She is the fourth-generation ophthalmologist in her family, proudly serving the Chicagoland community where she was raised. Dr. Sarran pursued her medical degree and residency training at Rush University and completed her glaucoma fellowship training with the glaucoma service at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Her clinical work includes cataract surgery and a range of contemporary glaucoma procedures to protect optic nerve health and preserve vision. Patients appreciate her steady communication style and the time she takes to explain next steps, offering them advanced and personalized care.
