Dr. Osemelu Aburime

Dr. Osemelu Aburime is an ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma who provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with elevated eye pressure and optic nerve disease. He focuses on clear communication, step-wise treatment planning, and tailoring therapy—from drops and lasers to advanced procedures—so patients understand their options and feel confident in each decision. In addition to glaucoma management, he evaluates cataracts and common vision changes and coordinates care closely with primary and specialty providers.

Dr. Aburime earned his undergraduate and medical degrees through Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, completed a transitional year at Baptist Health System–Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, and finished ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He pursued subspecialty training in glaucoma at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He stays current with emerging research and technologies to offer effective, up-to-date treatments and is now seeing patients at the Lee Health Center in Leesburg, Georgia.
