About Me
Dr. Michelle Cabrera is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Chief of Ophthalmology at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She specializes in pediatric ophthalmology, providing comprehensive eye care for children. Dr. Cabrera is board certified in ophthalmology and completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
She sees patients and performs surgeries for a variety of pediatric eye conditions, including amblyopia, strabismus, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, pediatric cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity. Her research focuses on retinopathy of prematurity, utilizing advanced retinal imaging tools to improve understanding and treatment. Dr. Cabrera is also involved in education and professionalism in ophthalmology, and she is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Dr. Cabrera believes in establishing a good relationship with both the family and the patient, emphasizing open communication. She prioritizes keeping children's eyes healthy and aims to make eye care a fun and enjoyable experience for her young patients.
