About Me

Dr. Kristina Tarczy-Hornoch is a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington and a pediatric ophthalmologist at Seattle Children's Hospital. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect visual development in children, including amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), and refractive errors. Her practice also encompasses congenital and acquired eye diseases in children, as well as ophthalmic manifestations of systemic conditions such as craniosynostosis and neurologic disorders.

Dr. Tarczy-Hornoch emphasizes a family-centered approach to care, recognizing that caring for children involves supporting the whole family. She is dedicated to teaching families about their child's condition and empowering them to make informed decisions about treatment. In addition to her clinical work, she is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and conducts research on the epidemiology of childhood vision disorders and the neural mechanisms of amblyopia.
