Dr. Marwan Abdulaal

Dr. Marwan Abdulaal is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal specialist at the Cincinnati Eye Institute, where he provides expert care for retinal diseases. He completed rigorous training, including ophthalmology residencies at the American University of Beirut and Case Western Reserve University, followed by fellowship training in medical retina at Harvard Medical School and surgical retina at UT Southwestern in Dallas.

His clinical focus is on managing complex retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vascular diseases of the retina, and challenging retinal detachment repairs. Dr. Abdulaal is dedicated to preserving and restoring vision through advanced surgical and medical treatments, offering patients practical and effective care plans.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Abdulaal is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents and medical students through the University of Cincinnati, where he holds an academic appointment. He has contributed to the field through multiple peer-reviewed publications and research presentations, earning awards like the Best Fellow Teaching Award and the Rabb-Venable Resident Research Award. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active with tennis, soccer, and traveling.
