About Me

Dr. Marwan Abdulaal is a vitreoretinal specialist at Cincinnati Eye Institute who treats the full spectrum of retinal disease and performs complex retinal surgery. He completed ophthalmology residencies at the American University of Beirut and at Case Western Reserve University, followed by a medical retina fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Joslin Diabetes Center and a surgical retina fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Case Western. Dr. Abdulaal’s interests include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, and challenging retinal detachment repair. He is active in teaching through the University of Cincinnati and has presented research nationally. Patients appreciate his careful explanations, practical treatment plans, and focus on protecting sight over the long term.
