About Me

Dr. Kyle Kovacs is a board-certified retina specialist dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized eye care at the Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Ophthalmology. He is committed to delivering the latest evidence-based vitreoretinal medical and surgical care to all his patients, with a particular emphasis on cutting-edge retinal imaging and surgical techniques. He commonly treats conditions including macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, diabetic retinopathy, inherited retinal diseases, medication toxicity, retinal detachment, epiretinal membranes, and macular holes.

Dr. Kovacs is the St. Giles Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and serves as the retina fellowship director. He is actively engaged in clinical and basic science research in retinal diseases, has published approximately 50 peer-reviewed research articles, authored textbook chapters, and regularly presents his research at national and international meetings. He also serves as a scientific reviewer for several major ophthalmology journals. Dr. Kovacs is currently accepting new patients.
