About Me
Dr. Karl J. Siebert is an ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. He has been practicing at Verdier Eye Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1999. Dr. Siebert attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate and medical school education, completed an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and pursued a glaucoma fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Siebert treats a wide range of conditions including open and narrow angle glaucoma, and performs advanced procedures such as trabeculectomy, tube shunt surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), laser iridotomy, and selective laser trabeculoplasty. He also has expertise in small incision sutureless cataract surgery and complex situations involving trauma, secondary intraocular lens implantation, and advanced technology intraocular lenses.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Siebert holds a clinical professorship at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is involved in training ophthalmology residents. He also volunteers at a health clinic serving low income and uninsured patients.
