About Me
Joseph (“Jamie”) Raevis, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Monmouth Retina, caring for patients in Little Silver and across Monmouth County. A summa cum laude graduate of The College of New Jersey, he earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. Dr. Raevis completed ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate, where he served as chief resident, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before joining Monmouth Retina, he directed vitreoretinal surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and served as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Raevis manages the full range of medical and surgical retinal disease, from intravitreal injections to complex retinal detachment repair, and he enjoys teaching patients what to expect every step of the way. Outside of work, he spends time with family and enjoys hiking, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, and astronomy.
