Dr. Kush Patel is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Virginia Retina Specialists who provides comprehensive care for diseases of the retina and vitreous. He completed ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, serving as chief resident and being recognized as the Outstanding Graduate. He then pursued a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at NJRetina in New Brunswick, New Jersey, gaining extensive experience with complex surgical cases and participating in multicenter clinical trials. Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is excited to care for the community where he grew up.

Dr. Tian Xia is a retinal specialist and ophthalmologist caring for patients at Retina Vitreous Consultants in Livingston and Morristown, New Jersey. She treats a wide range of medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous, with a focus on helping patients preserve and improve their vision over the long term. Dr. Xia earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency after an internship at Overlook Medical Center. She went on to complete a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, gaining advanced training in retinal vitreous surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Xia believes that every patient deserves clear explanations and a thoughtful, individualized treatment plan.
