Dr. Jorge Jimenez

Dr. Jorge Jiménez is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical care of disorders of the macula, retina, and vitreous. He provides thoughtful, individualized treatment plans and explains complex conditions in plain language, aiming to protect and restore sight for people with both common and rare retinal diseases. In addition to clinical excellence, he has participated in educating trainees and in clinical trials.

Dr. Jiménez earned his B.S. in Biochemistry with a piano performance concentration at Millsaps College (magna cum laude) and received his M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency, serving as chief resident. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he also served as a clinical assistant professor. Dr. Jiménez is fluent in Spanish and welcomes patients seeking compassionate, expert retina care.
