About Me
Dr. Jonathan Barofsky is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced training in diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula. He provides comprehensive care for a range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, retinal vascular diseases, vitreous disorders, and uveitis. Dr. Barofsky is affiliated with several medical centers in New Jersey.
Prior to entering private practice in 1996, Dr. Barofsky completed his undergraduate studies at Union College, earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and underwent training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School, including an internship in internal medicine and a residency in ophthalmology. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans. Dr. Barofsky holds memberships in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, and has received honors including the Irving Shulman, MD Memorial Award.
