About Me
Dr. Alexander D. Port is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery. He joined NJ Retina in 2020, bringing expertise in a range of advanced procedures to treat complex retinal conditions. Dr. Port is dedicated to providing patient-centered care for issues like retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Port completed his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and an ophthalmology residency at the same institution, where he served as Chief Resident. He further honed his skills through a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Boston University and the Boston VA Medical Center, also serving as a clinical instructor. His research and publications focus on topics including vitrectomy surgery and cytomegalovirus retinitis.
He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Port's approach combines advanced surgical techniques with a commitment to detailed, consistent patient care.
