Meet Dr. John Prenshaw
About Me
Dr. John Prenshaw is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and general ophthalmology. He provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on incorporating the latest medical innovations. Dr. Prenshaw treats conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye, and performs refractive procedures including LASIK and implantable contact lenses.
Dr. Prenshaw earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia, where he served as Chief Resident. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Before joining Woolfson Eye Institute, he spent five years in private practice in eastern North Carolina.
His clinical interests include premium intraocular lens technology, pterygium removal, and advanced glaucoma treatments such as SLT. Dr. Prenshaw is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and enjoys helping his patients achieve better vision and eye health.
