About Me
Dr. James Sbarbaro is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery, with over two decades of surgical experience. He has a strong focus on cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and complex anterior segment procedures, helping patients with a wide range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, pterygium, dry eyes, and macular degeneration. Dr. Sbarbaro is skilled in treating severe corneal diseases such as keratoconus and Fuchs’ Dystrophy, and performs advanced surgeries like corneal transplantation and refractive cataract surgery.
He completed his medical education and internship at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by residency at Drexel University where he served as chief resident. His fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery was undertaken at the University of California San Diego Shiley Eye Center. Dr. Sbarbaro has contributed to research with peer-reviewed publications, emphasizing his commitment to advancing eye care.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family in Colorado, reflecting his dedication to a balanced life while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
