About Me
Dr. Gustavo Corrales is an ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and complex cataract surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Eye and Ear Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and pursued advanced fellowship training in cornea and complex cataract surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Corrales is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Corrales has a special interest in corneal transplants, complex cataract surgery, and laser cataract surgery. He utilizes advanced techniques to treat presbyopia and astigmatism to provide the best possible vision after cataract surgery. He also performs pterygium surgery with an innovative 20-minute technique that offers fast recovery and a very low recurrence rate, and he is experienced in the laser treatment of floaters. Dr. Corrales is involved in clinical research and has designed surgical instruments used worldwide to improve outcomes in pterygium and glaucoma surgeries. He also participates in medical missions, providing sight-saving procedures to patients in remote areas of Honduras and India.
